With a title that sounds like it should be a romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts and a suitably generic leading man, Beer.Cider.Love is an event that celebrates the passionate pairings of exceptional food with beer and cider.
Beer.Cider.Love brings together two of the Northwest’s premiere craft beverage producers, the Ft. George Brewery of Astoria, Oregon and the Finnriver Farm and Cidery of Chimacum, Washington. Hosting this event is The Brooklyn House restaurant of Portland.
The purpose of this second-annual gathering is to showcase the products of Ft. George and Finnriver in combination with the farm-to-table, European-style, comfort food of The Brooklyn House.
Five courses, all locally sourced, will be served that will each pair a beer from Ft. George and a cider from Finnriver with selected items from The Brooklyn House menu. Beginning with a cheese plate and finishing with chocolate tort, this is one event that is sure to bring in rave reviews.
Tim Ensign of Ft. George will offer the Quick Wit Belgianesque ale, the Vortex IPA, and the Cavatica Stout. Finnriver’s Jana Daisy-Ensign brings the Finnriver Artisan Champagne Style Cider, the Raspberry Brandywine, the Fire Barrel Bourbon Barrel Aged Cider, and the Finnriver Cacao Brandywine.
The Brooklyn House prides themselves on a menu that is created from fresh ingredients gathered almost exclusively from local artisans and farms. Their menu is nutritiously prepared from scratch in-house and menu items change dependent on the season.
The Brooklyn House is located at 3131 SE 12th Ave, in Portland. The event begins at 6 P.M. Tickets are $65 and can be reserved by calling the Brooklyn House at 503.236.6761.
Listen now as Steven Shomler and Ken Wilson talk with Erica Litzner, host of this event and the co-owner and manager of The Brooklyn House; Jana Daisy-Ensign, Cider Ambassador for Finnriver and Tim Ensign of the Ft. George Brewery about the Beer.Cider.Love event.
