There are certain songs that make your heart clutch — put that lump in your throat. You can feel it reach in and surround you. It’s not a feeling you’re always after, but sometimes you need it.
The National seems to be band that has a knack for such songs. I first heard “Think You Can Wait” while watching the credits for the excellent film, Win Win. (If you haven’t seen this movie, I highly recommend it).
The National just released a new album, Trouble Will Find Me, and will be coming through Portland for a show at McMenamins Edgefield on Saturday, September 21st. Concert details below.
