Aaron Nigel Smith is a Portland-based musician on a mission.

His “call to action” is inspiring kids, adults and families to sing, dance and play together.

In 2002, Smith created FUNdamentals of Music and Movement, an arts curriculum that is now the program of choice for more than 100 early education centers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Boston.

Last year, the couple launched the Rox in Sox Music & Book Festival in Lake Oswego. The first one-day free event was a huge success.

On August 2, 2014 Rox in Sox 2 attracted a crowd of nearly 1500 to the grounds of the West End Building in Lake Oswego. Festival-goers donated 1454 pairs of socks, 116 pairs of shoes, and 760 books to needy families in Portland and beyond.
