Matt Brown & Naomi LaViolette team up once again to perform at Jimmy Mak’s on January 10, 2014. Brown celebrates his return to Portland with his trio, The Connection, while LaViolette showcases songs from her new critically acclaimed record You’ve Got Me.
Matt Brown, a blues and soul singer-songwriter, returns to his hometown of Portland, OR to play his first show back since moving to Nashville in the fall. Matt Brown and The Connection have recently released new singles with producer Rian Lewis and will be playing those songs along with more new music he’s been writing in Nashville with Brook’s and Dun producer, Don Cook.
Portland music veteran Naomi LaViolette blends retro-style grooves with cool pop. Her smooth vocals span the sultry blues of Norah Jones to the ambience of Sarah McLachlan, and her keyboard style is reminiscent of both the funky rhythms of Billy Preston and classic folk-rock of Carole King. Following the successful release in October 2013 of her second record, You’ve Got Me, LaViolette returns to Jimmy Mak’s with her full band.
