Lincoln Crockett is one of the finest of the new breed of Portland-based singer-songwriters, and a wizard with a mandolin. Lincoln’s occasional collaborator Chris Kokesh calls his music “A kick in the pants with a hug. Like ‘Hey, wake up’ and ‘I understand, we’re all in this together’.” Once ubiquitous on the Portland pub scene, Lincoln is currently a scarce sighting having settled into a less frenetic domestic lifestyle in Trout Lake, Washington.
A decade ago Jazz/Rock/Blues Fusion guitarist Jim McKeon reached a crossroads when he was approached to tour with blue-eyed-soul and pop singer Gino Vanelli. McKeon turned down the offer, choosing instead to focus his native intensity on something more responsible and lucrative than life on the road, namely software engineering and aikido. He has taught and performed jazz, rock, blues, R&B, experimental music, pretty much everything in the Portland area for the past 25 years.
