Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Zia McCabe of The Dandy Warhols remotely dropped by the PRP studio in between rehearsals, parental duties…and gardening. With two sold out shows at The Lot at Zidell Yards and their daily social media blasts, we sure appreciated them taking the time to chat with Subculture host Veronica Bisesti.
Zia and Courtney spoke about keeping Portland as the bands home base and jumped in on some topics relative to the success and survival of our local music community.
The band provided three deep album cuts to play – “Mis Amigos” (2008, Earth to the Dandy Warhols), “Doves” (2016, Distortland) and “Terraform” (2019, Why You So Crazy) – and discussed why those tunes are representative of the bands sonic explorations.
If you weren’t able to score a pod for TDW shows, you might still be able to catch Zia DJ’ing ahead of some other bands playing at The Lot…but go grab tickets NOW, they are flying off the shelves!
And if by chance you’re planning a trip to Australia at the end of 2021, you just might want to check out their tour along side The Hoodoo Gurus.
Listen to the interview below and then go dig out your Dandy’s albums….
