The music? Fresh, vibrant and unexpected as all outdoors, here in Oregon. And songs vibed out throughout with consideration to our Portland and Oregon-specific culture, neighborhoods and friends. That’s Santiam.
WORKING IT OUT: THE MANY PASSIONS OF SANTIAM
They have all lived in other states, even in other countries, as many of us have. Only to return to home base. That moving about thing? The band tell us is it was always in search of the very thing that exists right here. At home. So back to Portland and to Oregon it has been for Jen, Patrick, and Chris.
Saturday Joe invited the trio in for his #MusiciansWakingUpFarTooEarly segment. He previewed the new EP (which gets a release party June 11th, detes below), talked approach to songwriting which is all about not having too many expectations when each of them bring in new material to the group, and letting that creative flow do its own thing. Which it does beautifully, as you will hear.
