It’s time for toast. No, not the mechanically-burned slices of bread of which you’re thinking. The Toast to which I refer is the 5th annual version of the event known as Toast.
Once a year (hence the annual nature of the event), The Oregon Distillers Guild gathers Oregon and the world’s premiere artisan distillers to offer more than 120 varieties of spirits for your enjoyment.
The purpose of Toast is to showcase small distillers allowing them to bring their wares to a single location for an expansive tasting. At Toast you will find artisan-crafted whiskey, vodka, tequila, brandy, gin, and rum along with even more unique and distinctive craft spirits.
Toast is the brainchild of The Oregon Distillers Guild — the first distiller’s guild in the U.S. Established in 2007, the mission of the Oregon Distillers Guild is spreading the word to spirit aficionados the world over that Oregon is the foremost location for devotees of fine craft spirits.
Clear Creek Distillery will be just one of the producers at Toast. Clear Creek creates their spirits in Portland from Pacific Northwest fruits and Scottish barley. Using techniques learned in Switzerland and Alsace, Clear Creek uses traditional European pot stills to produce whiskey, liqueurs, grappa, and eaux de vie.
Toast’s 2015 tasting will be held at the Left Bank Annex in Portland at 240 N. Broadway. Using public transportation is strongly recommended. Doors will open at 4 PM. General admission is $45. VIP tickets are $60. Tickets can be had here.
Listen as Steven Shomler and Ken Wilson talk with Lee Perry of Event Theory, Toast’s event producers, and Jody Guither of Clear Creek Distillery.
