The Oregon Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) honored four very talented Oregon high school musicians at Jimmy Mak’s Thursday evening.
OMHOF’s annual college scholarship award ceremony and performance celebration featured large checks and mini-concerts from the award recipients.
OMHOF’s 2014 scholarship winners are:
- Molly Burke, bassoon, Summit High School, Bend.
- Kristin Qian, violin, Catlin Gable School, Portland.
- Gabe Young, oboe, Ashland High School, Ashland.
- Kyle Zimmerman, saxophone, Portland Adventist Academy, Portland.
The OMHOF college scholarship program began in 2007 and to date; OMHOF has awarded $35,500 in scholarships to college bound students continuing their pursuit of a musical education degree.
“Selecting from more than 100 musically passionate and talented applicants was not an easy task,” said Janeen Rundle and Terry Currier, OMHOF Co-Founders.
