Kory arrived in Portland eight years ago and has been busy in the local music scene ever since. The new collection of songs sings truth to power on several different political levels. We are seeing the comeback of socially aware music-makers in the grand tradition of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie.
Kory is an important part of that tradition that we need right now and into the future. Underlying the powerful lyrics and sentiments is rich and twang-filled playing and singing from Kory and blues drummer Jimi Bott and his band.
