The 9th annual Oregon Music Hall of Fame Induction ceremony went off without a hitch this year at the beautiful Aladdin Theater.

The enigmatic Tony Starlight stood as Master of Ceremonies.

The Delines and their opening performance feature tunes off of their “Album of the Year” award winning, Colfax.

The Kingsmen and Friends, and Storm Large performed live for a packed house. Heat Miser, Jerry Joseph, Neo Boys, Bill Rhodes, Ellen Whyte, Dave Captein, Brian Foxworth, Marc Baker, John Chassaing, and The Delines were all inducted this year, as well as Artist of the Year, Storm Large.

The inductees had to have worked in the music industry in Oregon for 20 years to be considered for the Hall of Fame.

When we caught up with the folks forming a line outside of the Aladdin, everyone was buzzing about the highly anticipated performance by Storm Large. We definitely could not have agreed more.

The Oregon Music Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization which benefits youth music programs on Oregon schools, with $2500 scholarships going to college students studying music.

We caught Co-founder and board member Janeen Rundle, selling raffle tickets for a guitar auction before the show started.

This year OMHOF presented a check to Oregon Public Schools for $168,000.

The board includes President Terry Currier, Co-Founder Janeen Rundle, Inessa Anderson, Marc Baker, Bill Frith, Randy Hunger, J. Michael Kearsey, Geoff Metts, Wayne Pierce, Penny Williams, and Beth Martin.

Storm Large thrilled the crowd with her electric performance and spoke about Portland with warmth as her only home. It’s clear that although she’s only grown with national exposure, her heart is still with Oregon.
