Michael Allen Harrison’s iconic benefit concert returns to downtown Portland, raising funds for music education.

In a city known for its inspiring creativity, Michael Allen Harrison’s Ten Grands concert is part of the soul of Portland. The multi-piano performance – the largest of its kind in the U.S. – returns to downtown this spring following a two-year break from live performances, the longest so far in its 20-year history.

Ten grand pianos together with some of the Pacific Northwest’s biggest piano icons and freshest talent will come together April 16 for “Ten Grands is Back,” the 21st Ten Grands Concert. Arranged by renowned composer, musician and PRP Board member Michael Allen Harrison, the show features Tom Grant, Robert O’Hearn, Dr. Andrea Johnson, Colleen Adent, Mac and Haley Potts, Mark Salman, William Chapman Nyaho, and John Nilsen – with special guest vocal legend and PRP Board member Julianne Johnson.

It’s a lot of talent coming together, not only to perform, but to also support the next generation of musicians as a fundraiser to support Play It Forward, the Portland-area nonprofit founded by Marietta Harrison and Michael Allen Harrison that’s dedicated to equal access to music education for elementary through high school students.
