Even if you’ve never heard Crime-A-Billy music, you’ll recognize The Strange Tones as experts in the genre, which blends rock, old school R&B and blues. The instrumental title track on their 2010 release “We’re on our Way” brings together a grittiness and groove that is the backbone of the album. Nominated for Portland Music Award’s “Best Live Performance” and winner of the “Best Northwest Recording” Muddy Award by the Cascade Blues Association, The Strange Tones bring their special brand of fun to the stage at Kennedy School.
