Time to clear your palate for the largest food event in Oregon, The Bite of Oregon, at Portland’s Waterfront Park August 8-10.

A benefit for Special Olympics Oregon, The Bite is celebrating 31 years of bringing together Oregon’s top chefs, best wineries, craft breweries and finest cuisine. From the organizers:

Eat.

The Chef’s Table offers Bite visitors smaller gourmet plates prepared by chefs who partner with various Oregon Agriculture Commissions. This year it will expand in size and feature Commissions including blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, potatoes, Seafood Oregon, Oregon Beef Council and this year’s newest addition: Oregon Dairy Products. Different entrée and dessert bites will be served each day. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the rancher, farmer, or fisherman who grew, raised or caught the item they are enjoying in a true farm-to-festival spirit.

Drink.

We’re excited to welcome some of the state’s best craft breweries, wineries, cideries, and distilleries to help quench your thirsts and tantalize your palates. A major addition to this year’s event is the highly regarded SE Wine Collection who will host a tasting bar pouring sample sips and glasses from locally produced wines including a collective blend made exclusively for The Bite.

And be merry (while supporting a great cause).

The Bite is fun for everyone. Families, friends, couples, colleagues, and even blind dates. Two music stages located on opposite ends of the festival will host more than 30 of the state’s best live bands ensuring a rocking good time no matter where you find yourself at the festival. For families, the Bite offers a variety of fun activities including puppeteers, art projects, face painting, and lots of interactive performance acts.

This year The Bite will enhance your experience with “The Bonus Bite,” which is where attendees can opt-in to receive texts during the festival and win prizes. Stay tuned for more information on special packages, early bird deals and how The Bite plans to engage and get social with you while you’re eating, drinking and being merry at this year’s Bite of Oregon.
