Retrolicious, one of Portland’s most colorful food carts (replete with pink flamingos), will offer snacks this evening, as two Portland authors read  from their new books tonight at Powell’s on Burnside. They are:

Steven Shomler, “Portland Food Cart Stories,” and Tiffany Harelik, “Trailer Food Diaries Cookbook,” volume two.

Powell's readings

Shomler, PRP.FM’s own food cart correspondent, came by the studio this morning to tell us about a new cart in town: Midwest Pizza, a new cart  at the Mississippi Marketplace Food Cart Pod – on the corner of N. Mississippi and Skidmore.

“Right now, they’re serving Chicago deep dish-style pizza,” Steven says, “and in two weeks they will be serving authentic Detroit-style pizza made with real Brick Cheese!”
