We’re pleased to partner with the Portland Radio Project (PRP) for our upcoming Built Up Festival on September 22-29 (https://www.builtupfestival.com/).  PRP (http://prp.fm/) is the official radio station for the festival, a weeklong celebration of Oregon’s consumer product ecosystem, presented by Built Oregon.

“Based on our experience with Built Oregon, we were motivated to do more to inspire, inform, and lay the foundation for a world-class annual event for years to come,” noted Terry “Starbucker” St. Marie, cofounder, Built Oregon. “And, who better to tell that story than our local, independent radio station? Especially one that provides a media platform for musicians, small businesses and non-profits.”

Beginning on September 22 with a series of community organized events, the Built Up Festival will culminate on September 29 with “The Main Event,” presented by Ziba Design (tickets are available HERE).  This daylong session will feature brands like Deschutes Brewery, Hanna Andersson, Humm Kombucha, and Lucy Activewear. In addition to conversations among founders and small business leaders, the Main Event will include breakout sessions focused on finding financing, getting local products to market and brand storytelling. PRP will help capture and share the stories of founders attending the event.

PRP made its foray into talk programming in 2015 with the launch of Biz503, a podcast focused on startups and small businesses proliferating in Portland. It currently features more than 10 regularly scheduled shows, with topics spanning from business to jazz to subculture.

“The Built Up Festival will bring together producers, brands and regions that constitute our rich maker community – and PRP will amplify their voices,” said PRP cofounder Rebecca Webb. PRP will broadcast live interviews with Built Up Festival speakers and offer text-to-win tickets in the lead up to festival week September 22-29 at 99.1 FM (in the heart of Portland), and stream worldwide at www.prp.fm.
