PRPmogoSaturday 11/21 was a huge night for the band One From Many (O.F.M). Not only did they play for a screaming crowd of fans at the mogo Portland Music Festival, they also played through the entirety of their greatly anticipated album, entitled “29:11.” O.F.M. fans were extremely supportive at mogofest, showing their love by dancing, screaming, and grabbing the limited press of 100 advance CD’s that were available for one night only!

Josh, Joe, and Aaron dropped in to the PRP studios to talk about the festival, their album release, and their musical influences. Songs from their childhood ranged from traditional gospel songs to MxPx and the Beach Boys – the varied mix of influences has given the band a strong musical “bag of tricks” from which to grab catchy hooks and production techniques.

The 5 song EP will be available for general purchase on iTunes as of December 11, but there were a limited number of hard copies avaialable at the mogo festival. The CD’s sold quickly, along with other O.F.M. merchandise, including hot pink boy shorts! Until December 11, they’ve shared a sample of the new album on soundcloud. The band has taken the past year to complete the album, and are very happy to have seen the show of support.

The new EP reflects a more relaxed, intimate style than One From Many has typically been known for in the past. The more exposed vocals, highlighted by strings and haunting guitar solos, create an emotionally moving experience for the listener. Always keeping their fans in mind, One From Many has composed a beautifully flowing, vulnerable sound that clearly connected with their admirers. The reaction of the crowd at mogofest indicated that O.F.M.’s new smooth sound has also won them many new loyal listeners.
