PRPIt is rare that a band is able to easily express what motivates them to stick together through the tough times. It’s even more unusual for the members to have been friends for several years outside of the band. When a group of friends has been together since preschool…well, maybe that’s the perfect recipe for a band! Lucy Gray’s Josh and Dan could not keep from exchanging friendly hugs and inside jokes during their visit – their comradery was so natural that they almost spoke with one voice.

It’s true – some of the members of Lucy Gray have been friends since preschool. Some have known each other since their high school days. In addition, the members have been involved with several other local bands who have been PRP guests. These young men support the idea of playing as much as possible – and they’ve been doing it for years!

Josh and Dan made an impression by honoring their influences, particularly the music of the Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin. They also mentioned that they try to emulate the idea of remaining “down-to-earth”, and understanding that the reason for their success is the common love of music that they share with their musical heroes and their fans.

Lucy Gray values the human element of music. Their advice to future musicians: “Never stop playing, seize all opportunities, and learn from everything you hear.”
