Michele Van Kleef came by Portland Radio Project to let us listen to a couple of tracks from her forthcoming album, Your Own Way. The title track is inspired by Joni Mitchell — someone greatly admired for doing just that.

And we listen to a couple of Michele’s new songs: “Long Long Day”, “For a Ride”

Michele Van Kleef: Your Own Way

The new album, Your Own Way, was recorded at Kung Fu Bakery Recording Studio, home to Pink Martini, Tom Grant, John Nilsen, Storm Large, the Von Trapp Family Singers (not kidding!), just to name a few…

I have run into many of these outstanding artists while recording our new creation there. We’ve had lots of guest artists lending their talents to make this record even more special, including my Calobo bandmate, Caleb Klauder and Portland’s own rock violinist, Aaron Meyer! It represents lots of different styles from full rockin’ band to an acoustic singer/songwriter vibe, because you know I like lots of different styles! ~ Michele Van Kleef
