Lizzy Ellison of Cardioid on Fresh Spins with Jen Em

I like my music beautiful, complicated and meaningful. So out of the literally hundreds of new bands and songs I listen to every month, three bands have remained in constant 2017 rotation. Those bands are Anima!, Coco Columbia, and Cardioid, the musical project of singer, songwriter, guitarist, keys player, chef and much more, Lizzy Ellison. She spent a generous hour and a half with me at the Portland Radio Project studios to talk about her new home in L.A., her creative process and what inspires her. She had some very heartfelt thoughts about the current political climate, and what difference she hopes she and others can make. Listen in to learn of her deep love of Dolly, and how Jeff Buckley was part of a life-changing moment in her musical journey.

Cardioid is playing their last show for a while in Portland Sunday, August 27, 2017, and you won’t want to miss it!
