Killer Shows in Portland (3/9-3/15)

Jen’s Concert Picks include killer local shows such as Cat Hoch, Arlo Indigo, Small Million, Blossom and more!

Thursday, March 9

Indie Alt-rock band Enjoys Things is playing with Seedling & Gonzo at White Eagle. I didn’t find a music page for Seedling or Gonzo, but I did find this lovely band with a banjo, Seedlings, and this picture of Gonzo with a chicken.

Indie synth pop band and Fresh Spins fave Arlo Indigo plays Turn! Turn! Turn! with Freak Folk artist Lili St. Anne Thursday night. Arlo Indigo’s EP Dreamboat somehow smacks of my magical memories of the 80s, and that might be why they self-describe as “yacht rock” on their bandcamp.

Blossom immediately hooked me with the track Rhyme; it is everything I want in Indie R & B, with her amazing voice, the beats, the organ, and omg, the key changes. See her on Wednesday at Mississippi Studios with vocal experimentalist Amenta Abioto, and prepare to swoon and groove, simultaneously.
