The Druthers are back and are their fans ever excited! Known for their “Heart-sweeping folk/pop with his and hers harmonies” this is a band you will love to dance and sing with. This time they are trying out one of Portland’s favorite venues, LaurelThirst Pub. Chris Dugan will open.
If you would like to pre-func at The Thirst, you can do that to the “groovy and gritty roots-rock and Americana sounds” from The Yellers, 6-8 p.m.
Also Saturday night, a dance party will be going on at the Goodfoot where 10 piece band, Jujuba, will be to whip the crowd into a dancing frenzy. Straddling the line between Afrobeat and juju, they offer a full horn section, rubbery bass, and intricate percussion breaks.
Eric Taylor is a master storyteller and has been one of the finest southern songwriters for the last four decades. Influencing such well-known artists as Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett (both of whom have covered several of his songs) and Steve Earle, Taylor tours extensively throughout North America and Europe. He has appeared on Austin City Limits, Late Night With David Letterman, NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “Mountain Stage” and BBC Radio. A mesmerizing performer whose shows will leave you wanting more.
Eric will be performing at the Fremont Theater in Portland on Friday, June 23rd.
From Facebook: “Ants In The Kitchen is NOT your typical rock & roll cover band. They’re 7-piece “horn band” that plays a mix of classic 70’s era funk, blues, and soul…a danceable mix, but with the tone and force of a ROCK band!” They play at the Trails End Saloon this Saturday
