Teri’s picks:

Teri says, “I’m a leaving on a jet plane, I don’t know when I’ll be back again.” Not all true, back on Saturday, but here are some hot picks without the added embellishments:

You can’t go wrong with this line-up:
The Get Ahead, Mickelson, and Laryssa Birdseye at Alberta Street Pub – “An evening of soulful Americana in one of the best listening rooms in the NW. Laryssa Birdseye will open this show with a special solo performance, followed by a set of new tunes by the Bay Area’s Mickelson. The Get Ahead will take it on home.”

The Secret Sea

Who doesn’t love a house party? This one has the amazing sounds of The Secret Sea and Sucker Crush.

Sucker Crush is the newest iteration of music from Bay Area composer/performer Marissa Deitz. Sucker Crush’s sad summer ballads and midnight breakup songs are sweetly sung and awash in reverb, evoking stylistic comparisons to Grizzly Bear, Beach House, and Angel Olsen.

The Secret Sea is Amit Erez, a cult-status indie icon in his hometown of Tel Aviv, known for his incredible guitar finger-picking and emotional delivery. In 2015, Erez relocated to Portland Oregon, keeping the band name as his solo identity.

Dear Lemon Trees, Photo from dearlemontrees.bandcamp.com

Dear Lemon Trees is an LA-based Americana trio consisting of songwriters, Kathleen Grace, Jamie Drake and Leslie Stevens. I caught Dear Lemon Trees and an acoustic set featuring Matt Hopper Tuesday night at a house show – phenomenal roots band, featuring gorgeous, lush harmonies and multiple instruments passed among them, including my favorite – the banjo.

Matt Hopper sang from the heart and won mine.
This is a Jim Creek Band album release show.
Guaranteed to be a great show at one of my favorite venues. Join these three bands this Saturday night at White Eagle Saloon.
