Wednesday-Sunday, November 1-5 All Together Festival, Various Venues

Tender Loving Empire is turning TEN years old, and we want to party with Portland more than ever before. Back when TLE started, it was all about making music and art with friends. We were printing zines and recording songs in bedrooms, and exploring a city full of possibility and creativity. Ten years, four stores, seventy records, and thousands of artists later, the bands and the makers still go hand in hand. All Together Festival revolves around five days of handmade in-store events – demos, tastings, workshops, and more – paired with five nights of live music at venues across the city, including Holocene, Clock Tower, Tender Loving Empire locations, The Know, Doug Fir & Revolution Hall.

Luke’s Picks

Friday, November 3 Collapsing Stars, The Scree, and Tumbledown Live at the Firkin

Collapsing Stars blend traditional blues, roots, folk, and Americana sounds with a hint of modernity, comparisons range from the Lumineers, and Father John Misty to the Black Keys and Ben Harper.

The Scree

Hailing from the east and west coasts, Tumbledown formed to take a dying breed of music – classic rock-and-roll – and “make it new.” Spiced with Americana, alt-country and pop, the band takes you on a journey through dark ballads, sweet love songs and rollicking road anthems. Ranging from soft to raucous to brooding, Tumbledown’s first EP, In Between, exposes the band’s fun yet contemplative spirit.
