In order to help the medical community in Sierra Leone, Surg+Restore works to bring medical knowledge to the area. Since it’s founding, Surg+Restore—in partnership with the UK non-profit ReSurge/Africa—has focused on training and building native Sierra Leonean medical personnel.

Surg+Restore has envisioned, at least, a 10-year commitment for self sustainability in Sierra Leone.  Private donations are essential to training more physicians. One of their most important recent projects has been to purchase new portable and non-electric anesthesia machines for the country and train anesthesiologists to operate them.
